The World Health Oraganization's special envoy on Covid-19, Dr David Nabarro, is to speak to the Oireachtas Special Committee on Covid-19 response this morning.

He will appear in the Dáil Chamber via video link from the WHO's headquarters in Geneva. Committee chairman Michael McNamara has said it will give the committee the chance to get a situation update on the pandemic and the most up to date public health advice from the WHO.

Deputy McNamara said Dr Nabarro will cover areas such as social distancing, face masks and coverings, and the latest research on the best ways to respond to and mitigate the impact of the virus in the absence of a cure or vaccine.
