Why you should never leave hand sanitiser in your car, according to experts

Washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds is the best way to remove any dirt and germs. We've been especially vigilant at doing this during the coronavirus pandemic, but when you're out and about grabbing essentials such as food or medication, you don't always have access to a sink.

So you might choose to take a bottle of hand sanitiser out with you in your bag or pocket. But as RSVPLive reports, there are a few experts who warn that there's one place you really shouldn't ever leave hand sanitiser - and that's in your car.

Florida Gold Coast University Associate Professor Dr Greg Boyce told Drivetribe that this is not a good idea. This is because, warm temperatures can cause the alcohol in the sanitiser to evaporate.
