PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police are seeking three more suspects after they arrested one for a carjacking that they say ended in a police pursuit. On Saturday, around 9 p.m., officers from the 6th district responded to the 1200 block of Poplar Street for a carjacking. When responding officers arrived at the scene, they spoke with the victim about the stolen car information and the description for the suspects. When one of the officers went over the radio to inform the district of the car details, another officer observed the stolen car traveling southbound on Broad Street. Authorities say the officer activated his lights and sirens in an attempt to stop the stolen car when the offenders took off at a high rate of speed. MORE HEADLINES The pursuit ended at 700 Chester Pike in Prospect Park after the offenders crashed into a fence, according to police. After the crash, police say four offenders fled from the car, but one suspect was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating a shooting that they say happened when a 6-year-old got ahold of a gun and accidentally shot his motherAround 11 p.m. on Saturday, police responded to a call regarding a person with a gun on the 5600 block of North 7th Street. When officers arrived, they found numerous people inside a residence and blood on the floor in the foyer. Responding officers were informed that the victim was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center. MORE HEADLINES It was at the hospital where police spoke to the victim who stated her 6-year-old son found a firearm outside their home on North 7th Street.Authorities say the victim took the firearm and gave it to her husband in an effort to clear the weapon.

SOMERS POINT, N.J. - Somers Point Police have launched an investigation after they say a woman died on Saturday morning. Shortly after 7 a.m., police were dispatched to the 600 block of 3rd Street for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a woman who had been shot inside a residence. Authorities say the victim was pronounced dead on scene. Officials with the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office say there is no threat to the public, and they are asking anyone with information to contact them as they investigate the shooting.

PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating several shootings from Saturday night to early Sunday morning that left five people dead, including a 14-year-old boy. An early-morning shooting on Sunday left a man dead, marking the fifth person to be killed in Philadelphia since Saturday night.Shortly before 5 a.m., police responded to the 2500 block of North Franklin Street for reports of a shooting. When officers arrived, they say they located a man who had been shot at least eight times. Medics transported the victim to Temple University Hospital where authorities say he was pronounced dead just after 7 a.m. This shooting came hours after a violent Saturday night left four others dead. The weekend gun violence began around 8:30 p.m.

OVERBROOK - A 14-year-old boy died after someone shot him in the chest in Overbrook.19th District officers were called to the 6000 block of Haddington Lane, in Philadelphia’s Overbrook section Saturday night, around 8:30, on the report of a shooting, according to authorities.When they got on scene, they found a 14-year-old boy on the street suffering with two gunshot wounds to the chest.Police rushed him to Lankenau Medical Center where the boy died from his injuries.Police say an active investigation is unfolding. There are no details regarding any suspects.

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - About 20 cars of a Norfolk Southern cargo train derailed near Springfield Saturday evening, the second derailment of the company's trains in Ohio in a month, officials said. But unlike the Feb. 3 derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, a company spokesperson said there were no hazardous materials aboard the train, The Columbus Dispatch reported.The CEO of the railroad company behind the toxic derailment in Ohio will face lawmakers next week in both Pennsylvania and DC.The train, which did not have passengers, derailed around 5 p.m.

WEST PHILADELPHIA - West Philadelphia was the scene of a fatal double shooting Saturday night.Officials say two men, aged 33 and 24, were on the 6000 block of Sansom Street around 8:30 p.m., when they were hit with a barrage of gunfire.Each man was shot multiple times. They were both rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center where the 33-year-old died.

ITALY, Texas - A 25-year-old woman has been charged with capital murder for the deaths of three children in Italy on Friday. Family members say she was the mother of the kids who were killed.Shamaiya Deyonshana Hall is behind bars on three counts of capital murder.

FREDERICK, Md. - One person is dead after a major crash and tanker explosion in Frederick County Saturday that sent a large plume of smoke in the air and caused back-ups on US Route 15.According to Maryland Department of Transportation officials, the crash happened on US Route 15 Rosemont Avenue near Schley Avenue in Frederick.Frederick County Fire Officials confirmed that a tanker truck involved in the crash exploded at the scene.Maryland State Police later confirmed that the driver of the tanker truck died as a result of the crash.No other injuries or deaths have been reported.Police also said that several vehicles and homes in the area suffered damage as a result of the flames.As a result, all lanes of US 15 between Rt 50 and 7th Street are shut down.(PHOTO: Chris Olson @COlson2848) Officials say the road will be closed for an extended period.The cause of the crash remains under investigation.According to FOX 5's Matthew Cappucci the smoke plume got to about 3,600 feet and was spotted on weather radar traveling east away from Frederick along I-70.This is a developing story.

PHILADELPHIA - A man is in critical condition after a single shot was fired through his own front door early Saturday morning.Police were called to the 2000 block of Champlost Avenue for a reported shooting just before 2 a.m.They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. BUCKEYE, Ariz. - The adoptive mother of a boy who went missing in 2016 and was later found dead in 2018 in Buckeye has been arrested, police said.On Dec. 13, Buckeye Police announced that 54-year-old Crystal Wilson was arrested at her home in Gainesville, Georgia in connection to the death of Jesse Wilson.Crystal Wilson was indicted by a Maricopa County Grand Jury and is accused of abandoning or concealing a body.

York Regional Police say 64 Mexican-born nationals have been rescued from an international labour trafficking ring that was operating in Ontario and several people have been charged.Deputy police chief Alvaro Almeida told reporters on Friday that the information learned through Project Norte was “just as disturbing as it is compelling.”“Sixty-four of them were subject to deplorable living conditions with no way out,” Almeida said. “Our members were shocked at the conditions they were living in.”“These workers are coerced with promises of a better life, decent wages, quality housing, and eventually documentation,” Almeida continued.

Milton man accused of second-degree murder in the shooting death of an armed intruder in his home last month has been released from jail on $130,000 bail.The family of 22-year-old Ali Mian hugged outside a Brampton, Ont., courtroom moments after Superior Court Justice Bruce Durno consented to his release.The lawyer for Ali Mian said his client is a registered firearm owner who was acting in self-defence. Mian’s mom, whom he lives with, was also home at the time of the alleged home invasion.

CHICAGO - The man accused of killing Chicago police officer Andres Vasquez-Lasso was ordered held without bond Friday afternoon after prosecutors disclosed new details of the deadly confrontation near a playground at a grade school in Gage Park.A Cook County judge denied bond to Steven Montano who has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated discharge of a firearm and two other misdemeanors seaming from the Wednesday shooting.The decision happened roughly an hour after the body of Vasquez Lasso was taken with a police escort from the Cook County medical examiner's office to a funeral home in Oak Lawn.Montano, 18, is charged with gunning down Vasquez-Lasso as he was being chased by the officer in the 5200 block of South Spaulding Avenue near Sawyer Elementary School.During the bond hearing, prosecutors said Montano and a 37-year-old woman he was dating began arguing about their relationship and living arrangement.An 18-year-old man has been charged in the shooting death of a Chicago police officer in the city's Gage Park neighborhood.Montano allegedly tried to strike his girlfriend who stepped out of the way, according to the bond proffer. Montano then threatened to get his gun. Montano's girlfriend exited the home and called 911 to report he had a gun, prosecutors said.
