A woman who survived Covid-19 but lost her own mother to the killer disease has spoken of the traumatic reality NHS workers face every day and how her family suffered a range of symptoms.
Four of teacher Carol-Ann Challoner's family - all key workers - have contracted the killer bug, and tragically her mum died in hospital.
The 46-year-old, who fell ill in March, praised NHS staff and told the Liverpool Echo "some of the things I saw on the ward will stay with me forever." Carol-Ann said she, her father Joey an ambulance driver, her mother Carol, a social worker and her brother Joseph, who works with children who have learning difficulties, all had different symptoms of the contagious virus.
