You’ll Never Walk Alone tops the charts as people create ‘isolation playlists’ amid coronavirus outbreak

The classic anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone has soared to the top of charts amid the coronavirus outbreak. It seems the British public are turning to the uplifting song, first performed in 1963 by Gerry And The Pacemakers, to get them through the quarantine lockdown.

The track zoomed to number one thanks to a staggering 150 per cent jump in streams, the Official Charts Company revealed. Why, you ask?

Well, it’s Liverpool FC’s anthem and might be providing comfort to fans who’d been expecting to get this year’s Premier League title by this point in the season.

Either way, it’s a treat for the ears and we’re chuffed with the resurgence. The Official Charts Company found out this gem by analysing tracks that were more than five years old
