WhatsApp has always been struggling with fake news on its instant messaging platform. In recent times, the application has played an instrumental role in spreading critical information regarding the coronavirus outbreak.

Unfortunately, the same spread happened with fake news and misinformation. WhatsApp is now trying to curb the spread of fake news by letting users verify selective forwarded texts on its desktop version as well as iOS and Android versions.

According to a report by WABetainfo, the latest versions of Whatsapp Web, the desktop version of the application get a new feature that will verify forwarded messages.
