Top Premier League clubs have reportedly launched a bid to try and stop Manchester City attempting to play in the Champions League while their appeal is ongoing.
The current English top flight champions were handed a two-year ban from playing in European competition after being found guilty by UEFA of breaching Financial Fair Play rules last month.
But they deny any wrongdoing and immediately appealed the decision, which also included a £25million fine. Reports suggest that City would possibly be able to compete in next season’s Champions League while the appeal was ongoing.
According to the Daily Mail though, nine top Premier League clubs will now do all they can to make sure that does not happen.
