The streets are largely silent. Restaurants and bars lay empty. High street shops are shuttered. Weddings postponed, projects paused, festivals on hold.
The ripples of the pandemic have affected every industry in one way or another. It's during this remarkable time that the creative industry has had to adapt in more drastic ways than ever.
And it's led to one local photographer utilising an unusual piece of kit to do her work. Ahmani Vidal, who studied photography at Manchester Met university, is usually busy capturing wedding days.
But to tackle lockdown boredom, and to keep her creative juices flowing, Ahmani is now using an iPhone and a mug to capture stunning portraits.
