Admissions to Wishaw hospital’s A&E department have halved in the space of a month due to the coronavirus lockdown.Official figures released by the NHS showed that 631 people were admitted to the A&E department for the seven days up to April 5 with Wishaw hitting the 95 per cent target for patients being seen within four hours.This compares to four weeks ago, for the seven days ending March 15.A total of 1261 patients appeared at A&E with only 87.2 per cent of patients being seen within four hours.Wishaw MSP Clare Adamson said: “The NHS is faced with uniquely challenging circumstances and the staff at University Hospital Wishaw are rising to that challenge.“I want to extend my endless thanks to the staff and all frontline health workers in
