Alan Shearer admits there will be losers, whatever happens to the end of the football season in England. League chiefs are still deciding whether to finish or scrap the current campaign as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to halt sport across the globe.

Should games continue, neutral venues will be used by Premier League teams for the remaining 92 top flight fixtures. But if the season is scrapped, as some are predicting, Shearer admits clubs like Liverpool and Leeds will feel majorly hard done by. "In an ideal world every club would play their remaining games at the stadiums they are scheduled to do so," he wrote in The Sun.
