Liverpool seem set to be crowned Premier League champions after the Football Association refused to sanction either the season being voided or scrapping relegation.
Top-flight football in England has been suspended since March 13 due to the coronavirus pandemic, but there are plans to restart the current campaign next month.
According to The Times, the intention is for the remaining games to be played behind closed doors from June 12. But the FA's stance would effectively confirm Liverpool as Premier League champions if the season is curtailed, and would give a huge boost to the promotion hopes of Leeds and West Brom from the Championship.
