Amir Khan insists he will not return to boxing behind closed doors

Amir Khan has revealed he will not make his return to the ring amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, claiming he would "rather be 100% sure before I jump back in".

The 33-year-old has not fought since July 2019, when he beat Billy Dib in Saudi Arabia, and has been campaigning for a bout with Manny Pacquiao.

However, with boxing set to return behind closed doors in the coming months, Khan has no interest in fighting without fans. "Even though there is big money I wouldn't be able to do it as I need the fan base there," Khan told BBC Sport. "I've got three kids.

I do so much in the sport already and I feel I'd rather be 100% sure before I jump back in. "I don't want to get sick. I've had a great career.
