The Monroe (LA) News Star (6/1, Sharma) reports on the theme for this year’s “Older Americans Month” from the Administration for Community Living – Make Your Mark.
The theme is “an ironically appropriate theme for 2020 when [the] entire world is experiencing a pandemic crisis.” Despite the loneliness and isolation from many older Americans during the pandemic, “they have dealt with this crisis with resilience and fortitude.” The article adds that the pandemic has helped highlight the near-universal need “for human contact, love, and social interactions.” Therefore, it is also “time that we...begin to assess the role of older adults in our lives.”.
