Andros Townsend has warned Premier League players not to put Project Restart at risk by flouting lockdown. Top-flight stars like Callum Hudson-Odoi, Kyle Walker, Jack Grealish and Serge Aurier have all broken government coronavirus rules in recent weeks.
And Crystal Palace winger Townsend fears the league’s plan to return to limited-contact training next week could be put at risk if it keeps on happening.
He said: “You need to start looking at your team-mates. If there’s a spike in cases it’s because possibly one of your team-mates doesn’t respect guidelines. “I’m sure there will be a big team meeting where senior players or management will have to explain the guidelines and how important it is to stick to them.” Bournemouth revealed
