Silent Witness creator Nigel McCrery has died at the age of 71 following an "unspecified" terminal illness, mere months after being given the diagnosis.
The 71-year-old former police officer created the forensics series Silent Witness and the cold case show New Tricks. He revealed last year he was diagnosed with an unspecified terminal illness.
In 2024, he opened up about his recent terminal diagnosis when appearing on BBC Radio 4’s Saturday Live, and labelled it "quite a shock".
The TV show creator continued: "I mean people deal with their deaths in different ways, and I think it’s all very, very individual to each of us.
