One police officer was left with blood streaming down his face after he was struck with an object during a Black Lives Matter protest but was seen back on his feet and ready to work.

Metropolitan Police said 12 people were arrested and eight officers injured during Sunday's Black Lives Matter demonstrations in central London.

Photos show an officer left bleeding from his head during the protest near Whitehall as colleagues comes to his aid. The policeman is later seen back on his feet, walking down a Whitehall street as officers continue to respond to the demonstration.
