A 16-year-old boy who has been missing for a week may have left home in a bid to walk to his girlfriend – who lives 280 miles away.

Meg Rhodes, 16, believes her missing boyfriend could be trekking to see her because of transport restrictions during the Covid-19 lockdown.

She has now pleaded for Owen Harding to "come home" after he went missing from his home last Thursday. Owen is described as white, 6ft tall, of athletic build, and with short brown hair.

He was wearing a black or dark hooded top, grey tracksuit trousers and white trainers. The couple have been in a long distance relationship for two years as Meg from Pocklington, near York, lives 280 miles away from Owen who is from Saltdean, East Sussex.
