The 2021 Coachella music festival has been cancelled as the world struggles to contain and control the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The major music event – notably popular with influencers and reality stars – had been due to go ahead over two weekends in April in Riverside County in the Golden State.
But now the festival has been dropped for the 2021 season following health advice in the local area. While the Stagecoach music festival – a country music event that was also due to take place on the same site as Coachella in California in April – has also been ditched as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to rage.
The public health officer for Riverside County, Dr Cameron Kaiser, explained the reasoning behind cancelling the 2021 festivals.
