Brits could be restricted to 'two-pint limit' when pubs re-open after lockdown

Booze-thirsty Brits could be forced to limit themselves to "two or three pints" when beloved pubs finally re-open, an economist has warned.

Eyak Winter, who has been advising the government, said pubs, restaurants and shops could open their doors again providing coronavirus restrictions are in place.

This includes social distancing and fines for people abusing the rules. But he also warned one solution could be for landlords to "ration how much beer they serve, to two or three pints", reports the Guardian.

He said: “People are starving for pubs. They are an important part of British culture." He added he was concerned people could behave inappropriately once the lockdown is lifted.
