Bus driver killed by coronavirus told mum 'I won't make it' as he held her hand

The mum of a London bus driver who died from coronavirus after warning his vehicle was not safe has shared his heartbreaking last words.

Emeka Nyack, 36, who drove the number four bus from Blackfriars to Archway, was struck down by the disease and was later killed by it on Saturday.

He had been battling the virus for more than two weeks before it took his life. His devastated mum, Anne, said that dad-of-one Mr Nyack had stayed at home as much as possible to avoid the disease.

Tragically, she was not allowed to say goodbye to her son as paramedics told her to leave his side when he collapsed. But, she did recall his last words and said Mr Nyack knew he was going to die.
