The Cabinet will meet today to discuss the latest recommendations from the National Public Health Emergency Team on how to tackle Covid-19.
With the reopening of schools planned for the end of this month NPHET met yesterday to discuss how to further reduce the spread of the virus.
They also looked at issues including the wider health service and the protection of vulnerable people. Their recommendations are due to be discussed at Cabinet today and changes, if any, to the current restrictions or guidelines will be announced after that meeting.
The number of new cases rose sharply to 200 on Saturday although that figure has since decreased. Yesterday for the fifth day in a row there were no new deaths reported.
