PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia man is back behind bars after authorities say he raped a teenage girl while he was out on bail for allegedly beating a man two years ago in Queen Village. Herbert Morrison turned himself in last Friday for the alleged sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl whom investigators say he met on Instagram. Court documents show the sexual assault happened a month after the pair met while Morrison was out on bail for beating 40-year-old Zach Lean so severely he was in monthlong coma."One of them punched him in the head, knocked him to the ground, he hit his head on the curb and started having a seizure," said his Zach's wife Christine. RELATED COVERAGEMorrison, with the help of the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund, posted 10% of his $75k bail which released him back out into the public in August 2021. MONROE COUNTY, Pa. - Dozens and dozens of dogs are getting a second chance at a happy life after they were taken to safety by a Pennsylvania SPCA team this week.The discovery was made after a person died inside a home in Monroe County on Friday.A coroner at the scene called the PSPCA when they found a very large group of dogs living in unsanitary conditions with "possible lack of veterinary care," officials say.MORE HEADLINES:More than 170 dogs Jack Russell terrier mix adults dogs and puppies, five cats and a variety of birds were rescued from the home, and taken to various PSCPA sites in Lancaster, Philadelphia and Chester counties. "While no harm may have been intended in this case, the owners of the animals rescued today were clearly overwhelmed," said Julie Klim, CEO of the Pennsylvania SPCA. Officials say the dogs and cats are expected to be available for adoption at the Pennsylvania SPCA's Philadelphia facility, Lancaster Center and Main Line Animal Rescue.  

PHILADELPHIA - A 50-year-old man is dead after police say he stepped in to try and stop a carjacking in South Philadelphia, and now three suspects are wanted for his killing.Officers found the victim, identified as Michael Salerno, shot in the head next to a double-parked vehicle at 12th and Porter streets Wednesday night.Salerno was trying to stop three men from stealing his female friend's car when he was fatally shot by one of the suspects, according to authorities.Video released by police captures the tragic ordeal from start, to finish.MORE HEADLINES:The suspected vehicle pulls up behind a double-parked vehicle as one suspect approaches the driver, followed by two others.Moments later the victim runs to the woman's aid before he is shot by one of three suspects, who leave the man to die as they flee.Police say the three suspects were driving a red a Kia Soul with an unknown New Jersey license plate.A $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of these suspects.

UPPER MAKEFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Four people were killed and four are missing, after a massive flash flood event Saturday evening in Bucks County, due to torrential rain fall, authorities in Bucks County confirm.Officials said thunderstorms dumped upwards of four inches of rain in an hour at General Washington Memorial Boulevard near Washington Crossing and the surrounding area around 5:30.The deluge overtook occupied vehicles near the river, prompting multiple crews to assist in a search and rescue. PHILADELPHIA - A woman fought back to defend herself, and her home, when police say they became the target of three robbery suspects early Sunday morning.Officers arrived to find two men with gunshot wounds on the 4900 block of Germantown Avenue around 1:30 a.m.Both were shot by the female homeowner when she trued to stop them from entering her home, according to authorities.

HOOVER, Ala. - Carlethia "Carlee" Nichole Russell, the 25-year-old Alabama woman who became the subject of a two-day search when she vanished after pulling over on an Alabama interstate to check on a child, has been found safe.    FOX affiliate WBRC reports Russell showed up at the home in Hoover, Alabama that she shared with her parents at around 10:45 p.m. Saturday."She walked up, banged on the door, and that was her," Hoover Police Chief Nicholas Derzis told the station.The once-missing woman is now at a local hospital for evaluation.Officials have not released any details about where Russell was, how she got back home, or her condition."We work with facts," Chief Derzis said.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia police officer suffered a medical emergency on the job Friday night and died. 44-year-old Lynneice Hill had been with the department 24 years.Her husband, also a Philadelphia police officer, still trying to process the loss of his wife, spoke with FOX 29’s Eddie Kadhim and explained she not only made him a better police officer, but a better man."She molded me into the man I am and, also, a better police officer.

PHILADELPHIA - A Philadelphia police officer was rushed to the hospital Friday night after being found in a vehicle suffering from a medical emergency, law enforcement sources tell FOX 29. Early reports indicate the incident happened near the intersection of Snyder Avenue and South Christopher Columbus Boulevard around 9 p.m. FOX 29's Jennifer Joyce reports the female officer was taken to Jefferson Hospital and her condition is not known at this time.It's still unclear what caused the officer to suffer a health emergency.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a Philadelphia corner store employee is dead after being shot in the neck by an unknown gunman. The deadly shooting happened just before 7 p.m. at the Jefferson Food Market on the 1500 block of North 29th Street. Police say a 37-year-old store employee was shot in the neck while stocking shelves and pronounced by responding medics.MORE LOCAL HEADLINES:The victim was later identified by family members as Jose Almonte, a husband and father of three."I don't know what to tell my two little brothers and my little sister, it's hard right now," said Derek Santana, Almonte's stepson.No arrests were reported immediately following the homicide.

PHILADELPHIA - Homicide detectives with the Philadelphia Police Department have identified a suspect they say is connected to a deadly shooting on Boathouse Row. Officials say the shooting occurred during the early morning hours of June 24. According to police, officers responded to the 2200 block of Kelly Drive for a radio call reporting an auto accident. When officers arrived on scene, they found a dark Dodge Charger with its hazard lights on and found 30-year-old Kahalil Wilkes lying next to the driver-side door on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESMedics pronounced Wilkes dead on scene just before 3 a.m., according to authorities. Police have identified Arbri Pajollari-Kreka as a suspect in the case. A warrant has been issued for his arrest on murder, VUFA and related charges.  Related A homicide investigation is underway after police say a man was fatally shot on Philadelphia's Boathouse Row early Saturday morning.

BLADENSBURG, Md. - Bladensburg police say five people were shot after leaving a funeral at Fort Lincoln Park mid-Friday.Chief Tyrone Collington said all five victims injured in this mass shooting were traveling the same Chevy SUV when someone in a dark-colored sedan opened fire while the SUV drove over a Bladensburg Road bridge that crosses the Anacostia river, near the Bladensburg Peace Cross Memorial.  Police responded to the 4300 block of Bladensburg Road a little before 12:30 p.m. Friday.

CHESTER COUNTY, Pa. - Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a deadly crash on a state highway. Officials say troopers responded to the crash on Route 202 N at mile marker 17.2 shortly after midnight on Friday morning. According to authorities, the preliminary investigation revealed 42-year-old Matthew Deangelis was traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of the roadway in a 2015 GMC Sierra when it collided head on with a 2022 Volkswagen Taos. Deangelis was pronounced dead at the scene and the three people in the Volkswagen were transported to Paoli Hospital for treatment. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESPolice have not detailed the extent of their injuries but suspected they were life-threatening. The crash remains under investigation by Pennsylvania State Police. Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a deadly crash on Route 202 in Chester County.
