A new campaign has been launched to get laptops to students who need them as homeschooling continues. The Tech2students initiative by Camara Education Ireland and Trinity Access is trying to bridge the digital divide – so that nobody gets left behind.
They are appealing to people and businesses to donate laptops. In partnership with RTÉ, they are hoping to get 5,000 devices to those who need them most.
Tech2Students has been re-purposing laptops and chromeboooks for students in DEIS schools, in direct provision, adult learners in vulnerable groups, as well as youth groups such as Foróige and An Cosán.
They're looking for laptops or chromebooks that are no more than five years old. RTÉ, An Post, ESB, NUI Galway Access Centre and Rethink
