Holidaymakers who travel to the Canary Islands will have any Covid-related costscovered by the regional government if they catch the virus.
The new travel policy is designed to boost the number of Brits visiting the popular destination, after thousands of travellers cancelled their trips.
Tourists will have their medical expenses covered, as well as accommodation fees and quarantine charges caused by extended stays but they must be staying in tourist accommodation.
Repatriation costs are covered the policy, which will run for the next 12 months, but the cover excludes coronavirus cases known about before travel.
