Cancer patients could be sent to different health boards for surgery as pressure lifts from coronavirus. An NHS recovery plan, published today, includes guidance on keeping patients and staff away from infection from Covid-19 in hospitals.
Patients will be put in four levels of priority, with the first for those needing operations with 24 hours. Some surgery could be delayed for more than three months under the plan.
The "framework", published by the Scottish Government, says there should be physical separation of Covid-19 positive and negative patients “where possible”.Local demand could be eased by using beds across Scotland’s regions.
