PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia police were taken on a wild chase across the city by a U-Haul reaching speeds of 90 mph, and only ending because its gas tank finally hit empty.From South Philadelphia to Center City and eventually Germantown, several officers joined in the effort to stop the driver of U-Hail van early Wednesday morning.The chase went through more than 50 streets across Philadelphia, and came to an end on Newhall Street when police say the van ran out of gas.MORE HEADLINES:Four people have been taken into custody in connection to the chase; two adult men, a woman and a juvenile.A police radio was found inside the U-Haul, which police say had its decals removed, and license plate replaced.Law enforcement sources told FOX 29's Steve Keeley that the suspects were wanted in connection to a robbery turned shooting at a South Philadelphia 7-Eleven earlier this week.This is a developing story.

PHOENIX - A man who police say was in illegal possession of a tiger cub and tried to sell the animal has been indicted.Phoenix Police say 25-year-old Carlos Eduardo Castro Alcaraz was arrested on Jan. 23. An investigation began after officers received a tip that Alcaraz was trying to sell a baby tiger on social media for $25,000.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY - Police have arrested a suspect touted as a "dangerous criminal" after a crash escalated into an armed robbery on Monday morning. The incident began when a man driving erratically on York Road abruptly cut in front of another car, causing a minor crash in Upper Moreland, according to authorities. Police say the man immediately got out of his car, pointed a gun at a female victim, demanded her cell phone, and fled on Davisville Road.MORE HEADLINES:"[I'm] shocked, but I haven't heard anything like that around here before," a man told FOX 29's Shawnette Wilson when she showed the pictures to him as he left a Wawa in the area Monday evening. The man is seen walking towards the entrance of Masjidullah before turning away and immediately heading towards the back of the building. Officials say the man spray-painted Masjidullah's doors and a brand-new refrigerator used for their food pantry.

PHILADELPHIA - Police in Reading, Pennsylvania, are investigating a swatting call from out of state that prompted a police presence at a fast food restaurant. Authorities say on Sunday, just before 10: 15 a.m., officers responded to a threat against the Wendy's on Lancaster Avenue. Police say information they received indicated an armed suspect was possibly hiding in a dumpster at the restaurant. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESAccording to authorities, crews responded and cleared the dumpster. Police say the swatting call came from outside of the state. No additional information was released by authorities. 

PHILADELPHIA - The Philadelphia Police Department is investigating a robbery that left a man injured in the Oxford Circle section of the city. According to police, the incident occurred on the 6200 block of Large Street Sunday evening at 10:36 p.m. Authorities say officers responded to th scene for reports of a person screaming. Investigators say two suspects demanded to be taken inside the home of a 45-year-old, but when he refused, he was hit in the head with a gun and then shot in the left leg. MORE LOCAL HEADLINESThe suspects then fled northbound on Large Street in a blue Honda before police arrived, authorities say. The man was transported to Albert Einstein medical Center, where he was placed in stable condition. Police say the investigation is active and ongoing.

SOUTH BRUNSWICK, N.J. - Officials in Middlesex County, New Jersey, are searching for a driver who fled the scene after a fatal multi-vehicle accident.According to authorities, police responded to the intersection of routes 130 and 32, in South Brunswick, Saturday night, just before 10 p.m., for a car accident.When first responders got to the scene, they found a woman, identified as 43-year-old East Windsor resident, Kerri Shea, had died at the location because of the crash.MORE HEADLINES:Officials went on to say the driver of the other vehicle involved in the crash took off from the scene on foot.Police are actively investigating the crash and they are asking for the public’s help in identifying the fleeing driver.

Elon Musk's Twitter conducted yet another round of layoffs this weekend, reportedly firing 50 employees in an effort to further cut costs at the company.The layoff struck engineering teams related to advertising and Twitter's app, according to The Information. DETROIT (FOX 2) - A Detroit rapper's role in a $27 million tax fraud scheme landed her a prison sentence.Sameerah Marrell, also known as Sameerah Anderson, Sameerah Pickett, Crème, and Loren Boyd, was sentenced to 4 ½ years in prison and three years of supervised release. The 42-year-old must also pay the remaining restitution – $7,979,041.71.According to federal authorities, Marrell had successfully stolen $8.5 million, and the amount owed in restitution has been reduced by money, cars, and jewelry seized by the federal government and the states from Marrell during the course of this investigation.Between 2014 and April 2022, Marrell worked with others to file 122 false income tax returns to the Internal Revenue Service and Minnesota, Georgia, Maryland, Arizona, Connecticut, and Colorado state treasuries.
