NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) late on Friday notified major relief to businesses by offering flexibility in claiming tax rebates and extending the validity of electronic permits for movement of goods.
The idea is to help businesses meet the challenges of cashflow and disruption in operations caused by the covid-19 pandemic.
In a notification issued on the advice of federal indirect tax body, the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Council, CBIC said the restriction on businesses availing of tax credits where suppliers have not furnished details of invoice or credit notes, will apply only cumulatively for the period of February to August 2020.
