Just like every other charity and organisation, the pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on how The Bread and Butter Thing’s services are run.When lockdown measures first came into place in March this year, the charity was faced with a surge in demand.

The organisation's hub in Sale Moor was regularly met with queues of people waiting to pick up their weekly collection of food.

As a result, the organisation moved to a new central base at the Bowler’s Exhibition Centre in order to allow workers to pack up food in a safe and socially distanced manner.
