Bookmaker chains Coral and Ladbrokes are installing ‘sneeze screens’ in shops as part of plans to reopen from next Monday. Shops will have extra customer signage and stylus pens for using on betting stations and gaming machines to avoid customers needing to physically touch them, said owner GVC Holdings.
Staff will also be protected with dividing partitions from customers when they place bets or collect winnings. GVC plans to open all 2,445 Coral and Ladbrokes shops in England from Monday June 15.
But bookmakers need to wait for lockdown rules to change in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland before shops can reopen there.
