Coronation Street and Emmerdale’s production teams have been warned they’re at risk of shutting down due to a rising number of coronavirus cases on TV series. The soaps have reportedly been sent an email warning they need to keep up the current restrictions in place in order to prevent any more disruption to their output.
In the email, obtained by MailOnline , John Whiston, director of ITV drama in the North, said there had been an “alarming number of cases on both shows”.
According to the site, Covid cases are at a higher number than they were in January, when both shows had to be shut down for two weeks for a deep clean of the set.
