Greater Manchester's coronavirus death toll has risen again after 44 more lives were claimed by the virus. The latest NHS data shows that in total 1,052 people have died in the region's hospitals after testing positive for COVID-19.
NHS England figures released on Wednesday show that another 90 people had died after contracting COVID-19 in the North West.
England reported 665 new deaths on Wednesday, Scotland reported 77, and Wales had 15 new deaths. Northern Ireland is yet to report its figures.
The total death toll is now 18,094 across the UK. Further deaths have been recorded at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Pennine Acute Hospitals NHS
