A nurse has died at the hospital where she spent her long career saving lives. Julie Penfold was admitted to Arrowe Park in Merseyside as a patient after contracting the coronavirus.
The 53-year-old had worked there first as a healthcare assistant and then as a nurse for many years, The Liverpool Echo reported.
A statement from the Wirral Teaching Hospital, which is located in Arrowe Park, read: "Heartfelt tributes have been paid to WUTH staff nurse, Julie Anna (Julie) Penfold, who sadly passed away as a result of Covid-19.
