The Department of Health and Social Care has published a full list of key workers who are eligible to be tested for coronavirus.
Frontline workers will soon be provided with information on how to make an appointment for staff to be tested. The Government website states the tests will only apply to England, and will prioritise NHS staff, Police, fire and rescue services, as well as social workers, prisons and judiciary staff and frontline benefits workers.
Testing for coronavirus involves a swab of the nose and the back of the throat which are then analysed at labs. Results are expected to be communicated back to the individual usually within 48 hours.
