Home and Away has become the latest soap to stop production in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic. The Australian show, the country’s longest running series, has decided to turn the cameras off.
It follows EastEnders’ decision to cease filming as the BBC refuse to risk cast and crew’s health in the wake of the global crisis.
Emmerdale and Coronation Street have yet to suspend recording totally but are expected to follow suit in the days ahead. Home and Away have already made the decision but the Seven Network, who produce the show which is watched in more than 80 countries, says none of the stars or staff have fallen ill.
