JK Rowling pleaded with Morrisons for help after an NHS worker’s order was cancelled at the last minute. The Harry Potter author had taken to social media to lend her support to a nurse who had placed an order with the supermarket, only to find that it had been halted without prior notification.

Taking to Twitter, the customer, known only as Lauren, had shared a screenshot of an email from Morrisons, informing her that her recent order with them had been cancelled in the middle of the night. ‘Thanks very much @Morrisons,’ she tweeted. ‘Rather than phone me, you’ve cancelled a much-needed order. ‘Three weeks ago that was booked!
