Officers want more powers to enforce the coronavirus lockdown, including entering people’s homes to shutdown parties and BBQs, a source has said.
The Police Federation, which represents police, reportedly said there is a technicality in current measures that means they cannot enter homes, unless they are allowed in.
John Apster, the chairman of the group, said on Sunday that more people are calling officers to report neighbours for breaching social distancing guidelines.
