A doctor at a frontline hospital in the UK's battle against coronavirus says medics are already being forced to "play God" - and said they wish they could forget the faces of the dying.
The senior medic said they were unable to suppress the "inner voice of panic" as the first patient with Covid-19 died in front of their eyes.
In a heartbreaking column in the Mail on Sunday, the doctor described the terror felt by experienced medics as they were powerless to help an elderly man.
The unnamed medic, whose duties include covering high dependency wards at a busy hospital in London, warned staff are dangerously underprotected.
