A further 83 people in Scotland have died after contracting the coronavirus.The Scottish Government has produced figures today as part of its daily update on how the country is dealing with the effects of the disease.The nation's COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 1,703 – which is an increase of 83 from yesterday's figure.Locally, within the NHS Ayrshire & Arran region, there are now 846 cases of the disease which is up 21 from yesterday.The number of people in hospital with confirmed coronavirus, within the health board's region, at midnight was 56.Meanwhile, the number of patients in intensive care with confirmed or suspected coronavirus stood at seven at midnight.Across Scotland, a total of 65,125 tests have been carried out with 12,709
