Coronavirus: Scots told to cover faces in public - but UK government still hasn't decided

Advice on wearing masks has been thrown into confusion after Scots were told to cover their faces - but people south of the border weren't.

The Scottish government today told its citizens to cover their faces in public in "limited circumstances" to protect against coronavirus.

Yet the UK government has still not made up its mind what to tell the UK public. That is despite the UK government's scientific advisors (SAGE) reviewing the evidence and handing their conclusions to ministers last week.

Current advice for the whole of the UK is that people do not need to wear masks or improvised cloth coverings, such as a scarf, in public.
