Coronavirus social distancing 'leads to blind being turned away from supermarkets'

Visually impaired people have claimed they have been turned away from UK supermarkets because they wouldn't be unable to adhere to coronavirus social distancing rules.

People with disabilities have said they’re not “being allowed helpers in some supermarkets” because stores are “limiting entry to on person at a time.” One man, from Derby, alleged he was stopped from entering an unnamed supermarket because he was “unable to guarantee” he could remain two metres from other customers.

The shocking claims come a week after UK supermarket chains enforced strict restrictions and social distancing guidelines in a bid to prevent panic buying and adhere to government recommendations.
