KFL&A Public Health identified one new case of the novel coronavirus in the Kingston region over the weekend.

With novel coronavirus case numbers staying steady in Kingston, KFL&A Public Health‘s medical officer of health says the region has seen its first real peak of the virus.

Almost all of Kingston’s COVID-19 cases are resolved as of Wednesday.

Kingston’s medical officer of health says he penned a letter to the Cataraqui Region Conservation Authority (CRCA), advising it to reopen trails that it closed last week over novel coronavirus concerns.

KFL&A confirmed two new cases of COVID-19 in the Kingston, Ont., region.

The number of COVID-19 cases in the Kingston area has remained low with 54 cases this week and one new positive case reported since Wednesday.

Dr. Kieran Moore, chief medical officer of health for KFL&A Public Health said Wednesday he was fairly certain there were a number of people with COVID-19 in the community that the health unit has not tested, but he expects that number is very low.

As of Tuesday afternoon, KFL&A Public Health says it has not identified any new cases of COVID-19 in the Kingston region voer the last 24 hours, leaving the total cases of the novel coronavirus still at 54.

COVID-19 numbers are plateauing in the region, according to KFL&A Public Health‘s medical officer of health, Dr. Kieran Moore.

KFL&A Public Health identified five new cases of the novel coronavirus in the Kingston region between Friday evening and Sunday evening.

For a second day in a row, Kingston’s novel coronavirus numbers have only risen by one case. As of Friday evening, the region’s total now stands at 48 cases of COVID-19.

A member of the “Queen’s community” has been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to a statement from Queen’s University principal Patrick Deane.

There is currently a COVID-19 outbreak at a long-term care facility in the region, Dr. Kieran Moore, medical officer for health for KFL&A Public Health, has confirmed.
