A family of four who had no underlying health issues have all tragically died of coronavirus within a week. The family, from Lombardy in northern Italy, which has suffered the second-highest number of infections and the largest number of fatalities in the outbreak so far, were from the wine-producing town of Voghera.
The first to lose his life was Alfredo Bertucci, who was aged 86, on Friday (March 27). His death was quickly followed those of his two sons, named as 54-year-old Daniele and 46-year-old Claudio.
Both reportedly fell ill around 10 days ago. Alfredo’s 77-year-old wife Angela Albergati, who was treated in the same hospital as her family members, died this morning.
