NEW DELHI : As various state governments have started using indelible ink, used during voting, to stamp the hands of people who have been kept under home quarantine for coronavirus, the Election Commission has clarified that the stamp will have an expiry date of just three days.
Usually, people are kept under home quarantine for a period of 14 days. "Commission would like to bring to the notice of entities be they be ministries, departments in GoI, any PSU in the central or state sector, govts of user states, govts, of UTs that indelible ink mark is normally expected to last for 3 days when applied on the skin but lasts for a few weeks on the fingernail till the nail grows out," the Election Commission said in a letter to the health
