A vaccine is being tested against coronavirus on monkeys after initial trials on mice were positive, an official in Thailand has said.
Suvit Maesincee, Thailand’s minister of higher education, science, research and innovation, said research had moved testing of the vaccine to monkeys and hope to have a “clearer outcome” of its effectiveness by September.
The country announced its intention to develop a vaccine on Wednesday and said it hoped to have it into production for public use next year.
