Families of those killed by Covid-19 are already starting to investigate bringing claims against employers. One Manchester lawyer has been approached by the families of two healthcare workers who have died as a result of workplace exposure to the virus.
The government has already stated that bereaved families of front line NHS and care staff in England who die of coronavirus will be entitled to a £60,000 payment.
Only limited information about the scheme is available and it is not yet known if families will be able to pursue a claim against the employer too.
