Country Music Legend Charley Pride Has Died at 86 from COVID-19 Complications

Charley Pride, a legend in the country music world, has passed away at the age of 86. The music star died on Saturday (December 12) in Dallas, Texas of complications from COVID-19, his publicist confirmed. Charley gave his final performance just one month ago when he appeared at the 2020 CMA Awards in Nashville to sing “Kiss An Angel Good Mornin’” with current country star Jimmie Allen.

You can see photos from that event in the gallery. Credited as the first Black superstar in the country music, Charley was also the first Black member of the Country Music Hall of Fame.
