A couple who were married for almost 40 years shared a heartbreaking kiss on hospital trolleys before the wife died of coronavirus.
Carol and Harvey Kleiman were admitted to hospital on the same day after they both contracted Covid-19. Mrs Kleiman, 78, who suffered from an underlying heart condition, was rushed to intensive care on April 1.
Husband Harvey, 83, attended St James' Hospital in Leeds later that day after falling ill. The couple, who were due to celebrate their 40th anniversary in September, saw each other for the last time on their hospital trolleys, and shared a wave and a kiss before being transferred to separate wards.
