Liverpool appeared to leave an X-rated marking on the Anfield pitch while posting a touching NHS tribute. The Reds have been doing their part to help the NHS in the battle against coronavirus, with captain Jordan Henderson leading Premier League captains in an appeal to raise millions of pounds.

And groundsmen at Anfield wanted to share their appreciation by printing a heart alongside “NHS YNWA”, a reference to club song “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

But one eagle-eyed Twitter user spotted what appeared to be an X-rated marking which managed to make the final cut. The Reds posted the image on their Twitter account on Tuesday of the pitch from a high angle.
