A couple who went on a day trip from Surrey to Cornwall were sent packing after spending just an hour in the seaside town. The pair ignored coronavirus lockdown rules of essential travel and drove 265 miles to St Ives, telling police they had gone on the outing due to "forthcoming exam pressure." Local residents spotted the couple and reported them to the police, reports Cornwall Live.

"Today our officers attended the pier in St Ives where a couple had been spotted by concerned residents.
