While many people with Covid-19 develop symptoms including a dry cough and a fever, other people show no signs at all. Now, researchers from MIT have developed an app that they claim can tell if you’re an asymptomatic carrier, by analysing your cough.
The app can decipher subtle differences in the coughs of people with and without the virus, according to the team. Professor Brian Subirana, co-author of the study, said: “The sounds of talking and coughing are both influenced by the vocal cords and surrounding organs. “This means that when you talk, part of your talking is like coughing, and vice versa.
